Biography
Dr. Alexander Dane is a board certified dermatologist and a fellowship trained Mohs surgeon. He is extremely dedicated to his patients and takes pride in treating them like family. Dr. Dane specializes in skin cancer prevention, treatment and surgery, laser surgery, general medical dermatology and cosmetic surgery.
Dr. Dane attended the University of Michigan for his bachelor's degree and attended the Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine for medical school.
Dr. Dane then completed a one-year transitional internship at Beaumont Health - Botsford Hospital in Michigan. After, he completed three years of dermatology residency in the same hospital system and served as the chief dermatology resident.
In addition to having gained extensive experience in skin cancer surgery and cosmetic reconstruction, Dr. Dane went on to complete a one-year ACGME-accredited fellowship in Mohs Surgery and Dermatologic Oncology. You can rest confidently in his care, knowing that Dr. Dane has performed many thousands of skin cancer surgeries and cosmetic reconstructions.
Complementing his surgical expertise in skin cancer excision, Dr. Dane is a highly-skilled and passionate facial cosmetic surgeon, having performed many advanced procedures such as mini face lifts, upper blepharoplasty (eyelid surgery) and liposuction of the neck and jowl areas. He also teaches other physicians on cosmetic filler injection techniques given his thorough background of facial anatomy.
Dr. Dane is also a member of the American College of Mohs Surgery, American Society for Dermatologic Surgery and the American Academy of Dermatology. He has numerous publications in various dermatologic and medical journals.
In addition to his time in the office, Dr. Dane has also completed many dermatologic medical missions to underserved villages in Peru, Guatemala, the Dominican Republic and Haiti.
